Additional Publishing Options for Pages

WordPress ( General Use ) - These Tutorials can be used for any WordPress installation

First Create a Page or Post OR Edit a Page or Post

~ Before pressing the “Publish” button, consider the following Page Attributes ~

On the right-hand side below the “Publish” area, you will see a section titled “Page Attributes”. In this area you can Change the Template for a Page, Create a Child Page (effectively placing it under a drop-down in most WordPress installations), and Assign the Page Order with numbers (effectively putting the page in a certain position or priority in your drop-down or menus).

~ Change the Template ~

Do NOT perform this step for most GPro Design WordPress installations. We tailor-make all of your Templates, and using this function may break your Page. Page Templates are different Page Layouts created by the Theme’s designer.

Step #1

Select A Template Name from the drop-down menu under “Template”

Step #2

Press the “Publish” to save your changes

~ Create a Child Page ~

For most GPro Design WordPress installations, this will NOT create any problems with your page. However, it may also not have the desired effect as we tailor-make our navigation menus.

Step #1

Select the Name of the Page that you want to be the Parent of this Page (appear above in the page hierarchy) from the drop-down menu under “Parent”. For example, “Pets” could be the Parent Page for the pages “Dogs” and “Cats”

Step #2

Press the “Publish” to save your changes

~ Assign the Page Order ~

For most GPro Design WordPress installations, this will NOT create any problems with your page. However, it may also not have the desired effect as we tailor-make our navigation menus.

Step #1

Enter a Number into the text field under “Order”. It can be any number you wish and will be placed in ascending order; i.e. 0,1,2,3,4,5…

Step #2

Press the “Publish” to save your changes
